Nunatak was born from decades of scientific work in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Today, we bring that knowledge to agriculture and land restoration, building microbial solutions that strengthen soil-plant health and help crops thrive under stress.
Our approach learns from nature’s own resilience – from plant-microbiome relationships that have evolved over millions of years to survive under extreme conditions.


Our story: inspired by the edges of life

Before Nunatak became a company, it was a scientific journey. Our founding team spent years studying how plants survive and adapt in extreme places – from polar regions to remote landscapes shaped by cold, salinity and low nutrients.

We named the company after “nunataks”: rocky peaks that emerge from ice sheets and host unique ecosystems. Just like nunataks, we believe that the solutions to today’s soil challenges can come from the edges of what we know.
